    Ajanta Silk Mills is a renowned name in the manufacture and export of an aggregation of items, which include Himroo shawls, bed covers, cushion fabric, table covers, throws, etc. However, the inception dates back to 1925, when a small-scale unit was set up in Aurangabad by a single family.

    Aurangabad, a city founded during the Mughal era, derives its name from the name of the last Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb. Countless artisans and craftsmen were relocated in Aurangabad giving rise to a number of products that had the patronage of the erstwhile rulers of India.

    Aurangabad is known for some of these products that have stood the test of time and have added elegance to the royal palaces in the olden days and are still used by people who believe in tasteful decorations and furnishings.
