    Introduce:
Colombin founder, Kuniteru Kadokura, was appointed steward by the Ministry of Imperial household in 1915, receiving the honor of providing trend-setting ceremonial andeveryday confectioneries and ice cream to the imperial household.
Owing to this history, Colombin has been the one and only provider of western confectioneries to the Japanese imperial household until this day since 1924.
Colombin was the first to introduce genuine western confectionery made under the procedures for that of French confectioneries, and is the oldest confectionery maker in Japan. Shortcake (a type of cake decorated with whipped cream and strawberries), which is now a kind of representation of western confectioneries in Japan, was created by none other than our founder, Kuniteru Kuniteru based on knowledge and experience that he has brought back from his days of study at France.
Colombin has from its start, sent out many Japanese patissiere to France, contributing to their education and the development of Japanese confectionery industry. Kadokura felt it his duty to introduce to Japan not only the food and culture of France but also that of Europe as a whole, and had found pleasure in providing products and services that create a rich, beautiful everyday life, and at the same time bringing sensation to our customers.
The teashop that Colombin opened in 1931 in the town of Ginza had a ceiling decorated with six paintings by Japanese artist Leonard Foujita, with a miniature sized Eiffel tower attached to an outer wall of the building. The place also included a refrigerated glass display case and air-conditioning, which were both very rare at the time.
In delivering our confectioneries to the imperial household, we had used the Nissan Datsun, which was the newest and most advanced car during that time.
Thankfully, Colombin has been able to become a brand known to a majority of the Japanese population.
As one of our new attempts, we have begun beekeeping on the roof of our Harajuku building in Tokyo starting May 2010. Our challenge of raising bees in the center of Tokyo and the "Harajuku Honey" that has been extracted during this activity has been introduced favorably by a variety of medium. Items using our Harajuku Honey are also provided at our Harajuku Salon, becoming some of our most popular products.
Colombin has always adopted the most advanced culture of the time, while harmonizing them with history and tradition, which we will henceforth continue as the only western confectionery provider to the Imperial household. We will continue to improve our skills supported by true taste and tradition brought to life by ingredients selected on the basis of safety. Looking straight into the future, we will go at every possibility, suggesting products and services without compromise, bringing sensation to our customers through a
