    Our company Burdi s.r.l. is situated in the ancient Apulian town Ceglie del Campo by now a district of Bari. Among the main activities of the zone, one of the most ancient is the Processing and the commercialization of Almonds and, perhaps, for this business Ceglie del Campo is very famous among the world-wide dealers of dried fruits.
    The two brothers Michele and Roberto Burdi direct today the ancient activity of the family inheriting the experience in this market of four generations.
    We are a processing industry of dried fruits, specialized in the process and trading, import-export, of Almonds and Apricot Kernels.
    Several semi-finished products are quickly prepared thanks to the use of advanced technologies, opportunely modified to meet the necessities of our production.
    Our production capacity is 20 Tons of Almonds (and/or Apricot Kernels) whole blanched per day carried out by machinery created and built by ourselves, including the latest Sortex sorting machines, supported by qualified hand-picking personnel. The Blanching Process Line, our main processing, used for Europen third parties account too, eliminates the brown skin of the kernels and consists in:
    - immersion in hot water;
    - immediate passage through rubber rollers;
    - prompt drying in warm ovens;
    - passage through cooling tunnel for the restoration of the original temperature and moisture;
    - elimination of eventual impurities and/or shells made firstly by electronic selecting machines with colour and infrared beams and secondarly hand picked by qualified personnel.
    Dislocated in an optimal position near great arteries of communication like the Highway Bari-Taranto, Highway 16 Bis Brindisi-Foggia and the Freeway A14 and is also at a few kilometers from the city center and from the port and Bari-Palese airport.
    In our plant with more of 4.000 squared meters of total cover we have our production lines and:
    - a refrigerated warehouse (with a capacity of more than 500 Tons of products) at a temperature regulated between 10 and 13 Celsius degrees, in order to avoid possible alterations of the products caused from the warm summer temperatures;
    - an effective mechanical workshop for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.
