Introduce:: All the carpets we are offering are rigorously controlled responding to the strictest Tunisian weaving standards. A label sewed onto the back of the carpets gives customers information on the number of knots per square meter, wool quality, dimensions and surface area. It also indicates category. The slightest imperfection, fault in the symmetry or discrepancy of width or length downgrades the item to the second category reducing the price significtly. The label is issued by the Tunisian ministry of handcrafts.
Our parameters to determine the set prices are the quality of wool, the number of knots in the square meter and the time needed to finish a carpet, as you know some carpets require from 1 to 9 months to be finished. The higher is the number of knots per square meter, the higher are the quantity of wool and time spent in producing the carpet. If you are asking what's the difference between a high and a low number of knots per square meter I can give you this explanation; the loops serve to make the carpet more soft and cushiony to walk on and they act as insulators to help keep a room at a constant temperature so there is no difference in matter of quality they have all a good quality but with some advantages in matter of comfort.
