Seguridad y Manutencion, S.A. (SEYMA)

An ambitious and visionary initiative conceived by a small group of people with different trajectories and experiences, but united with a common will, gave place to SEYMA, like project and company, in the second half of the decade of the 70's. The initiative included the integrity of the company, from the establishment of the productive facilites in the Rohrmoser Industrial area of San Jose, as well as the development of technologies of process and product.
In 1977 the production began and in two years the first exports were made to Central America. Five years later, the SEYMA products arrived for the first time at the North American market and in 1985 they achieved an important landmark when Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. -UL-granted the bigger category of the world in antitheft resistance to safes manufactured by SEYMA in Costa Rica.
As the years went by, new markets were opening, and at the end of the 80's, SEYMA reached the Far East and Europe. In the 90's the appearance of the new harmonized European norm of resistance to the robbery of safes represented an opportunity to put on approval the capacity of SEYMA to make in front of new demands. And it was this way how a SEYMA safe was the first one in the world in exhibiting both UL and EN labeling.
Today, SEYMA brand is recognized in three continents, appears in the most noted directories in the world regarding burglary resistant safes: the directory of Underwriters Laboratories and the directory of the European Safe Rating Committee.
